My tech-fu is weak, once again defeated by the bloody video card and motherboard.
I did, however, manage to flash the BIOS without breaking anything, so I gained a point in mechanical.
Tomorrow, I'm going to try doing an ultimately clean install of the card, uninstall any old drivers I can find, update the AGP slot drivers, shut down, put in the card, load drivers and do the registry hack thin in safe mode.
If that doesn't work, since that's the accumulation of everything I've seen that SHOULD work, I dunno what to do next.
