Insights of a scoundrel

You know how there's things you do for years without understanding exactly why? At least not a why that makes anything good as an excuse. Things that are so blindingly obvious you have to wonder why they even asked. Well, now I know what to tell my sister the next time she tries to shame me for being a thief. Any other way, I'd have to play by everybody else's rules. And if you're playing their game by their rules, you're already halfway to losing. One of those things I'd known forever, but never really realized, if that makes any sense.

I'm playing my game, not theirs. They're playing my game too, they just don't know it yet. Of course, like all the really good games, you make up the rules as you go along.
