Are you sure you mean clever as in "smart, witty, crafty" as opposed to cleaver as in "big blade for slicing meat"?

But yes, Bloody Clever has much more appropriate connotations than "Big chunk of sharp metal".

Hopefully cleverness will prevent the hypothetical airship from becoming big chunks of sharp metal, as well.
