Forsyth's World

forsythSo, since I need to flesh out stuff about Fors's world for when I get around to writing more stories, this seems a place to do it.
So, the basics.
Why a ferret? Well... Because Forsyth is a ferret. His ferret-ness is integral into him. So, there you go.
And from there, as well as since he was originally a character on Furc, we end up with other animal races. Which ones? Well, ferrets, obviously, and probably others closely related to them. Cats and dogs, duh, possibly bears, possibly monkeys/apes. At least a few rodents. No cows or bunnies or anything like that, though. Predators only. magic and gods and evolution make a weird mix, which is why there's so many different intelligent species, but the theory I'm going with is that predators are generally more intelligent than prey. Including insectivores.
But that's all just BS backstory really, the main thing is it gives me a quick way to cheat and characterize a character, then from that either work with the characterization from the assumptions people would make, or to go against them. And because Fors is a ferret.
Gods?
There's lots. Sorta based off Greek/Norse styles, like most geeky things, damn D&D and its zeitgeist, but there's lots of them, and they're bored and tend to interfere with mortal lives, because why not? Though they can't directly intervene as much as they might like, for reasons that will be explained probably in the Final Forsyth Story, assuming I ever write it, which is why they don't just drop a building on Fors. And also politics, and they're curious about what'll happen, and other factors, too. And because it'd ruin the story. And hurt.
Currently defined(or at least existing) deities: Lady Luck, some god of thieves, Eris, some so-far generic god of righteous smiting and such, I think a couple others, but there's a lot of potential deity-stuff floating about so far, which is probably a bad thing. If you're not careful, you end up with Steve, the God of Scissors.
