So... Fox News is apparently trying to do a Daily Show copy.

It's... rather sad. Not in the completely brain-melting stupid sense of most of Fox News, but like watching a lame SNL sketch sad. They're no Jon Stewart. The thing about the Daily Show and the Colbert Report is how often they just play it straight, and deliver the actual news, and let it sink in how ridiculous it is.. And then their reactions.

That was truly lame. It's amazing how much (from joke stylings to set design to camera shots) they stole from the Daily Show. Also the canned laughter was painful, like they ripped it off of an old episode of scooby doo.

At least, I hope that was canned laughter. Or the audience was very scary indeed.

The thing is? There was a decent potential joke there, but they screwed it up by going too far. Stick with just the "Obama admitted to doing cocaine while a teenager. In response, his approval ratings among Democrats slipped to a record low 99.6%," and that's almost a joke I could see Jon Steward doing. And it would have been funnier than the whole extended thing.

Wow. Thats so super lame and sad its... super lame-sad. Seriously, thats not even good fake news. Or even fake fake news. Its lame not-even-worth-it stupid fake news.

Doesn't Fox have a history of not doing the news right? If so, I guess it makes sense that they wouldn't be able to do fake news right either.
