I haven't made any New Year's resolutions, and don't really intend to, but [livejournal.com profile] warren_ellis's New Year Ideas are a lot better than most of the "normal" ones like "use that gym membership, for reals." Or at least more interesting, which I figure is the same thing usually.

Reminder: no hyphen in the phrase "lj user". I know, it's stupid that the hyphen in required in "lj-cut" but not in "lj user".

I'm not trying to be a jerk. *shrug*

And I made a mistake in the preceding comment, so I'm not perfect either.

That's because the tag is "lj" and you're setting the "user" attribute. Another attribute that can be used with it is "comm" (for communities). "lj-cut", meanwhile, it a completely different tag (which can take the "text" attribute).

It'd help if I previewed the stupid post first and caught it, too.

If it helps, think of it this way. Whenever you use a tag and there's an equal sign involved, you have to have a space somewhere. So:
lj-cut text=""
lj user=""

If you put it together and there's no equal sign, then you did it wrong.
