An Overheard Quote

(Paraphrased from something I overheard at work)

"Once a writer's written a first book, that writer's redundant. Any other books are going to be by the same person, with all the themes and stuff they already used."

I can see several holes in that argument, the most fundamental one being it's NOT the same exact person writing the next books. But I thought it was interesting enough to quote.

You might want to check with this person at work as to whether they've read anything that *isn't* by David and Leigh Eddings. Some writers know about this thing called "variety", truly.

It was a customer, so not somebody I'll ever see again, probably.
