Us Adopts Tough New Space Policy

"The US has adopted a tough new policy aimed at protecting its interests in space and denying "adversaries" access there for hostile purposes.

The document - signed by President Bush - also says "freedom of action in space is as important to the United States as air power and sea power".

The document rejects any proposals to ban space weapons.

But the White House has said the policy does not call for the development or deployment of weapons in space."

Could someone please pass on to the militia movement that the One World Government is on its way - and it appears to be run by the US Rethuglicans. It's such a lovely dog-in-the-manger approach, too. The US isn't doing anything in particular with the whole notion of going into space, but the current administration seems to think they should be allowed to veto everyone else's plans.

Here's hoping that the Europeans, Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Pakistanis and all the other nations interested in space exploration give this particular bit of idiocy the raspberry it deserves.
