I know what I'm going to do for Nanowrimo this year. I'm going to take one of Shakespeare's plays, and rewrite it as a detective noir story. I'm not sure which one, though. I thought Romeo and Juliette, but that's kinda cliche-ed. It would work pretty well though. But I'm not set on it, and I'm looking for other ideas too. Anybody have suggestions?

Even DAVAN wouldn't do Titus Andronicus.

Bah, no one ever wants to do anything with Titus Andronicus.

What about say, the aftermaths of Hamlet or Othello, or Merchant of Venice might be workable as noir as well

Well, part of the point is to do something that wouldn't normally BE noir as noir.

I suggest King John. Not only do you have a powerful family split into a feud of two warring factions, but you have also a suspenseful tale of a child in jeopardy.
