Why are journalists so bad at their jobs these days? Why are they so tied in circles trying to look "unbiased' by not telling the truth? Why do they use bullshit words to describe something extremely simple? What happened to the whole idea of journalism? Was it lost to media consolidation? Right-wing scare tactics and threats? Laziness? What happened to make journalists unable to do their flipping jobs?

I wish I could say this was new...but it's old, it's happened before. After all Hurst made his fortune selling the news and 9 times outta 10 he didn't give a shit about accuracy as long as he sold papers he was happy. After all his most famous quote was "If you give me the pictures I'll give you a war" .

Same thing is happening today, news sources are caring more about ratings and sponsers then accuracy and the truth. It'll take the media going too far for the mind set to swing the other way again.

I believe it's been credited to William Randolph Hearst

He was credited for the propaganda around the Fatty Arbuckle trials, as well as other misuses of his Newspaper empire to sawy public opinion to what he thought it should be.
