I don't get paid enough where I work, yet I am fairly certain that the actual benefit to society from me doing my job is considerably less than I am paid.

Riddle me that, Batman.

Easily. I get overpaid for my position, and I can prove that 80% of the work I'm handed is stuff that should have gone to other teams. So I spend four-fifths of my time saying "You've called the wrong number", "You've emailed the wrong address", and "Whatever the hell it is you're talking about, it ain't us that does it."

Can't see that being of major benefit to anyone, really.

I take it as a sign I really need a better job.

Isn't the whole point of Capitalism the underfunded exploitation of the lower classes for the profit of the upper classes?

Nope. You are still the underfunded lower class. You have to ruthlessly exploit somebody else (or a group of others) for a long enough time to make your profits do all the work to move up.

I guess that's why I'll never get to be a manager in spite of my college degree in Management--I'm not all that ruthless.
