In a culture where marriages are arranged for money or power or other things, what would you (current-you, not hypothetical other-culture-you) think about affairs?

Would it change if the marriage-ees had a little say in who they married, but not final say?

Are you asking this question to find out what people's personal feelings about marriage are or to find out what their culturally-biased feelings about arranged marriages is?

Personally, I don't like the idea of getting married at all. If I were in a situation where I had to get married, then an arranged marriage wouldn't seem any different to me than if I got to choose someone.

I'm asking this question to find out the answer. The idea came to me at work and I went "huh". It's more to find out about what makes people define a marriage, I think, but I'm not really quite sure.
