Credit Where Credit is Due

I give the Republicans a lot of crap. But there's one thing I have to admit they're good at. They're more efficient than Democrats.

Why, in just over ten years, they've already become far more corrupt than the Democrats managed in forty years of control of Congress. That's at least four times better!

Well, they changed the election rules to the point that you pretty much have to BE corrupt to win public office. How do you think the W/Dickhead ticket won TWICE?

Honestly, both parties are crap.
Neither actually thinks about the common good, or the non-rich people who elect them. If either party cared about the poor, do you think we'd have the social problems that we do?

And this is what we call false equivalency.

Saying "both parties are crap" is just silly. One party has made us less safe, invaded another country based on lies, turned government completely into a graft machine for themselves and their allies, approved torture, run secret prisons, spied on reporters, spied on average Americans, locked American citizens up for years without trial or charges, alienated our allies, alienated our enemies, and is currently threatening to start ANOTHER war while their incompetence is losing the last one. That party is the modern Republican party. When one party is blatantly and institutionally incompetent and mendacious, saying "both parties are crap" doesn't work. There's a difference between "crap" and "blatantly endangering the country and putting their political good ahead of the defense and good of the country."

There are degrees of crappiness.
