The Lottery

I was thinking about what I'd do if I won the lottery today. I don't remember why.

But after a little bit, I realized most of my ideas boiled down to "Get rid of most of the money in hopefully useful ways".

The more I thought about it, the creepier being rich seemed. Maybe I'm just weird.

What is "money"? What is "wealth"? It is the means to get other people to do things for you. So, yeah. Wealth is kind of creepy.

I totally understand what you mean. My list goes like this:

1. Get out of debt.
2. Travel the world (because I love traveling).
3. Keep just enough that I only need to work at something I love, regardless of what (or whether) it pays.
4. Give the rest of the money to charitable institutions I respect.

Depends on how much it is, of course. After taxes, a small win would only do the first two, and I'd still do a lot of #4.
