The Grand Adventure
Mar. 12th, 2006 07:22 pmEarl's announcement came completely out of the blue. He sold his house, packed his truck full of stuff, then stopped by the bar to say goodbye.
"Earl! I heard you sold your house! What happened? Mafia gambling debts?"
Earl took the greetings in stride, but shook his head. "Nothing like that. I'm off to the big city, to seek fame and fortune."
"What, really?"
"Really," Earl said.
"But Earl. You're thirty-seven."
"So I am. So I better get going, I've got a lot of catchin' up to do."
The next time any of them saw Earl was on television.
(I don't think I quite nailed the dialogue on this, they talk too much like internet nerds.)
