Some Things Do Change on New Year's Day
Jan. 1st, 2006 09:10 pmIf it hadn't been for Dick Clark, Lisa would never have gone to New York. The only New York she knew were the twin fictional and urban legend versions, which varied between fairytale city of possibility and dark menacing labyrinth of danger. But for New Year's, she'd vowed to travel somewhere far enough away there was no doubt it was far away. Which, really, was anywhere beyond thirty miles, but she wanted to make a Statement. Dick Clark was on TV, so she said she'd go there and meet him. She didn't, but enough cool stuff happened, it didn't matter.
