Side Effects

Steve had a Realization. One fully deserving of the capital letter, that called into question many of his assumptions about life and forced him to reevaluate most of his decisions. The kind of Realization that could utterly change his life and his relationship to the world.

The Realization had a downside, too. It made him realize he'd been an utter ass most of his life. That's why he kept drinking, trying for the sweet embrace of alcoholic forgetfulness.

Fortunately for him it didn't work. The next morning he still had the Realization, plus a headache, and a stuffed moose head.
