Nanowrimo is coming up. I have no idea what to write yet.

Currently, I have three main ideas.

1) The "Final" Forsyth Story, which is a bigass story about Fors, but I don't know if it'd be 50K words. Also, it'd be not the final one, but it'd tie together the plot points of a bunch of ones I haven't even written yet. Fantasy, hopefully humorous.

2) Write about Gage, my superheroic/Matrixy/stuff character, loosely based on an old MUD character of mine. Sci-Fi/Sci-Fantasy, with much fightings.

3) Crap. I thought I had a number 3. Something "real" Sci-Fiish, or maybe the mech thing I was trying to think of as a comic, except for not, y'know, being able to draw, or something "serious and literary", or I don't know. Feel free to offer suggestions.

I don't believe in love at first sight. Lust at first sight, sure. Crush at first sight? Definitely. Those can both easily morph into love. And then that's assumed to have been the case all along.

But really, love's based on more than just what you can see right off the bat. It grows (or is built) from shared experiences and interaction. Like sex. One of the oldest bonding mechanics for people. And the root of the "Don't sleep with anybody you don't want to fall in love with," rule. Love's a process, not a sudden bolt from the blue.

(My brain goes odd places when I'm isolated in the wasteland of the music department for hours with nothing but a scanner and manymanylots of shiny optical data discs.)

"So, then the guards started chasing me..."

"All your stories start like that," Erin said, "Makes it sound like you're incompetent."

"It's more exciting that way," I said, "People like chases. Nobody'd want to hear about something where everything went right."

"Why not?"

"Well," I said, "It'd be boring. And take like six sentences. I snuck in. I got the loot. I got out. Nobody noticed. Four sentences."

"C'mon, that's cheating. You left out all the details."

"So? Besides, if I told all about the stuff that worked, then everybody'd know how I did it. Then they'd go do it."
