Things that should not be.

Nothing that comes out of the human body should be neon green. Especially not snot. Neon green snot, lurking in my sinuses, right behind my eyes.

Okay, I'm gonna stop there, I'm grossing myself out. But yes, snot shouldn't be that color. Yet it is. CONFUSION.

Daily Drabble

People are a lot alike. Where ever I go, I get the same questions. They ask if I'm traveling 'cause I'm looking for myself. Nope, I know where I am, I tell 'em. Right here.

Am I looking for America, then? For enlightenment? For buried treasure? None of them.

Then what are you doin wandering around like this? Just generally lookin', is what I tell 'em. That's so I don't miss somethin' while all my faculties are bein used lookin' for somethin' else. Never really know what I'm lookin' for run across it. More fun that way. Like a mystery.

(Brief detour. More Death in High Places later. Also, when I wrote this, I had a sort of image of some weatherbeaten old guy, dusty from the road, with a bike and a wide hat. What's it with me and big hats? I dunno, but for travel in the sun they're good. But still.)

Things I don't understand

Why companies use "personality tests" that are the equivalent of LJ meme tests, and about as accurate. And actively encourage people to lie. Do you REALLY want to encourage your employees to lie to you from the beginning?
