A dialogue drabble

"I could have my own bakery, with my tweaks," Michael said, "With clean water."
"It's out in the middle of nowhere," she said.
"So was where we met. Your friends got there first, who's gonna kick them off? No barons," he added, slyly.
"What about the kids? They love the city. They'll hate us for making them leave."
"Our spawn are adaptable. And easily distracted. Besides, they're supposed to hate us when they're older. And you can finally quit."
"Real thieves never quit. Alright, alright. No fair giving me that look. Fine, but! If it sucks, the city's still here."
