I'm not dead.

So, because Verizion managed to completely screw up many things, we're currently without DSL. Luckily, we have the backup old dialup still, but there's complications too. Short version, I'm online now, not dead, and probably won't be online consistently until Verizion decides to get around to not sucking. But, for the record, I wrote several posts while I was offline and posted them. Here's quick links, since they're backdated. And they're in chronological order, not reverse chronological order.

(Sort of) Daily Drabble

It seems like I end up writing my thing for Nanowrimo, then not writing the rest of the year. So I'm going to try and practice writing more, I'm way out of practice. One of those methods that I'm going to try (once my net connection gets sorted) is by writing a drabble a day. A drabble's a 100 word story. I may or may not add other rules, like picking words to base it around, or something, but for now, here's the first one. I dunno how regularly I'm gonna be able to be on just yet, so it may not be daily yet.

She's gone now, but her reflection twinkles in every angle of the apartment. She still drives him mad, transmuting his heartbeat into the rhythm of distant drums. The wounds on his fingertips throb in pain, in remembrance of her feel. Alcohol quiets the pain for now, but there's no safety in dissipated wastelands of booze, she could return, with another idea, another demand. He hates her, he loves her, but he can't see life other than through her. The musician and muse never get along, but can't stay away. When the fighting's finished, the makeup sessions are just too good.
