Interesting article in Wired about the economics of lower-selling titles and such in books, music, and movies online. Read for yourselves. http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/12.10/tail_pr.html

It's true, too, I've basically given up going to Blockbuster because yeah, they have Hellboy and stuff, but they don't have all the neat little interesting movies and such. Just wish I lived somewhere closer to people to go watch them with.

I've realized a problem with my idea about posting daily accomplishment updates here to force myself to accomplish things. If I'm too lazy to write anything, I'm probably too lazy to update this. Shoulda realized this beforehand.

Though I sorta accomplished something today, I patched and replaced the tire on my bike... Too bad like five minutes after I did, I heard a pop, and the tire's flat again. I haven't had the heart to check it yet, to see if the patch gave out or if something ELSE was weak and popped. So that's two tires in a week that've popped on that tire. Oy.

Comics?

Now, for going on... four? years. I've been saying "Y'know, I should find an artist and do a comic," but not. this is due in part to my being broke most of those four years, so being unable to pay an artist. Which, from what I've seen on several comics forums, is often required.

Which leads to an analogy I heard somebody say, I forget who, or where. It was along the lines of "Making comics is like dating. The writers are the guys and the artists are the chicks. Writers go hunting for artists, and have to do all sorts of work to impress one. An artist just has to say they're available and they'll have half a dozen writers asking them to work with them." Yeah, it's not 100% accurate or anything, but it sorta fits.

'course, if you don't even ask, then of course everybody says no. Which brings me to the point of this. Such as there is.

I wonder if it's worth trying to write up either Fors stuff as scripts for a webcomic or finishing scripting out that mech thing. The second might maybe actually be able to get published, and I could maybe find a collaborator, as opposed to just paying somebody to draw, but I dunno. So.
