Music and Sensory Overload
Mar. 13th, 2005 07:27 pmThe past few days, I've mostly been leaving Winamp off. For years, I'd pretty much always had music on when I was on the computer, but recently, it started to all sound the same. I think part of it was because it was just always there, so it didn't have meaning attached to it. That, and I think there's times when you need to be able to cut things off and think about them, instead of just taking in new data. Time to let things settle and analyze them. It's easy in this day and age of the Internet to keep taking information in without time for it to settle, and then you can't separate the signal from the noise.
So, that's part of why I've been leaving my speakers off the past few days.
