Okay, so I had one hell of a rant, but now what? If I leave it at posting it here, it's not going to do anything, almost everybody who reads my LJ already is against Bush or foreign (much as I love you guys, you can't vote). And this may not be the best piece to start with, but I need to find a way to get the news out to other people. People who don't already agree with me. They want to vote moral values, so I want to highlight the moral values Bush and company don't have. Can't convince other people if we don't deal with them. Calling Bush evil to start with might not be the best way to do it, no matter how much supporting evidence there is. We didn't tell the TV news shows why we stopped watching them (their wimpiness and general selling-out), so they didn't think they had any support to grow a spine and stand up. NOBODY made an issue of Abu Ghraib in the campaign. I have NO fucking clue why Kerry wasn't pounding it at every turn. He should have been. But it's too late to say that now. It's not enough to tell the people who already know what an incompetent group of fuckups and immoral selfish people Bush and co are that they're immoral, selfish, fuckups. We need to tell other people, and make the evidence clear to them. We need to make the media cover it. Can we? I don't know, I'm just some guy writing an LJ, I can't tell the Democrats in DC what they should be doing. Well, I can, but they won't listen to me. They should be out there, pounding on it, pounding on Bush's plan to cut the tax credits for employer health insurance (Yes, that essentially means they'd take away employer-supplied health care), pounding their lies about the Social Security "crisis" (which deserves an essay of its own, the problem's not with Social Security, the problem is with the HUGE FUCKING DEFICITS) the Bush administration has run up, pounding all their screwups and lies and general selfishness. If we can't confront people when they violate the fundamental principles we stand for and whip up hate and fear and lie to the country, when are we going to confront them? When it's too late?
