Sometimes, the best part of knowing how to drive in snow is knowing when not to try. Around here, the biggest problems we have are the people who think four wheel drive makes them invulnerable, and the ones who simply don't have their cars prepared for snow.
The latter are rarer, because we get snow fairly often. But a car with only rear wheel drive, bald tires, and poor steering may leave you someplace and no matter how much you know how to drive on snow - or don't - if you have to get home, that's what you have to try to have to get home in.
