I need suggestions for a Mix CD. I'm making a nerd music CD, with songs about math, and supermassive black holes, and that sort of things. I'm also going to make a second one of nerdcore rap songs about the internet and math and stuff, but that's gonna come later.

Here's my list so far, in no real order.

Jonathan Coulton - Re Your Brains
Jonathan Coulton - Code Monkey
Jonathan Coulton - Skullcrusher Monkey
Jonathan Coulton - Mandelbrot Set
TMBG - Why Does the Sun Shine?
The Metasciences - Four Color Love Story
Freezepop - Science Genius Girl (live)
Da Vinci's Notebook - The Gates
Da Vinci's Notebook - The Big Chair
Songs to wear pants to.com - Experimental Film (cover)
Consortium of Genius - Blinded by Science
Consortium of Genius - Science Party
Thomas Dolby - She Blinded Me With Science
Muse - Supermassive Black Hole
Becky - Less Than Three (Ricardo Autobahn Remix) (as soon as I can get a copy of the mp3)
Weird Al - Yoda
Weird Al - Don't Download This Song
David Bowie - Space Oddity

So there's still a fair bit of room left for any sufficiently awesome suggestions.

I would kill for most of those songs, any chance on a trade in the future?

I think I have some badass nerdcore somewhere around.

A bunch of them are songs I've downloaded from the bands websites. I'll put the inks in the main post.

You probably already know this, but Why Does The Sun Shine is a cover from an old kid's album called Space Songs. What you might not know is that it's got a couple other awesome songs on it like It's A Scientific Fact and Zoom A Little Zoom, and you can download them from that link.

That's the same song that's all
"The sun is a mass of in-can-descent gas
A gigantic nuclear fur-nace!
Where hydrogen is turned into he-li-um
At a temperature of millions of degreeeeeees!" ?

I suppose "Particle Man" isn't nerdy enough?

Yes. And it sounds awesome when TMBG play it live.

Yeah, I know, because somebody pointed it out in the thread on Ryan's forum I made. Which I was gonna link to, but Ryan's forum's been dead for all but ten minutes of today.

It is, but it's also already on my TMBG mix CD. Somehow I left How the Sun Shines off it.
