Trust the Ferret, the Ferret is Wise
You need to believe in things that aren't true. How else can they become?

"I'm from Maine. Maine has one of the most prominent moderate Republican senators, Olympia Snowe. Snowe is a negotiator, a moderate. She supports Women's rights. She is pro-choice. She's a Republican Democrats like. Olympia Snowe is about as acceptable and even preferable a choice to the political Left as the Republicans are going to get.
Snowe voted for the Patriot Act. Twice. Snowe voted for Aleto, Hayden and Roberts to be confirmed (which among other things put the military in control of the CIA for the first time... well, ever and which positioned the Supreme Court to overturn Roe and God knows what else. She voted against the Investigating Contracts in Iraq Amendment, designed to provide and enforce Congressional oversight... well, over Halliburton getting fat off of tragedy and war. She voted for an Amendment to the United States Constitution to prohibit flag burning.
On Thursday Night, Olympia Snowe voted for the bill that suspended Habeas Corpus, gave the government the power to declare anyone an unperson enemy combatant and be held indefinitely, and to let the Presidency decide what is and is not torture under the Geneva Convention, without Judicial or any other oversight. She has voted to contravene or directly flout the first, fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth, ninth and fourteenth amendments to the Constitution of the United States.
Is Olympia Snowe a good person? Maybe. I dunno.
It doesn't matter.
Olympia Snowe is part of the problem. And as long as she gets returned Maine is contributing to the degradation and decimation of the ideals, rights, responsibilities and principles of the United States of America."
