I don't think Adventure! would quite work, this is more high fantasy with airships and swashbuckling and steampunk. Yay high magic worlds!
The whole "inspired" bit wouldn't work quite right, I don't think, much as I love Adventure! Whereas I have bunches of D20 stuff about airships, because I'm a fanboy. And steampunk. And D20 could probably be hacked into a halfway decent system, but I dunno.
