Sahara

This was a nice evening. Well, aside from the fact nobody showed up for Magic. But one of my friends had baked me a cake for my birthday, and then we all got together for Vampire, which we spent spending the experience from the 400 years between the end of the first episode and now. We're moderately uber. It's going to be absolutely stupid when we get to the modern era.

Then, when we were done with points and history making, we watched Sahara, which was really good. It'd been a long while since I'd read the book, so I didn't even remember most of the plot, but it was a fun, pulpy, goofy action movie. And funny. Especially Al. It was really good. I do hope if they make a sequel it doesn't suck.

So, all in all, a pretty good night.

It's times like these I could really use a Lovely Assistant or a Sidekick. But Lovely Assistant and Sidekick went with so many Ideas, both were completely out of my price range. I needed to start investigating before the people had time to prepare. But without knowing about Succession, I might be wasting my time.

My feet had decided and were taking me toward my first suspect. Okay then. I pulled out my phone. "Hello, Dave," I said when he picked up, "I need you to do some research for me. Succession. Justice. Yes, the Old stories. You owe me."

Dave took my request about as well as could be expected. "If anybody can find it, Dave, it's you. Now, don't be like that. Of course there's no danger. Thanks, Dave."

No more danger than ever dealing with Old Stories.

The Fat Cat Casino was right around the corner. Goon was at the door and didn't seem to happy to see me. But he didn't stop me, either.

The casino floor was crowded, but only a few Citizens. The rest were Extras, just filling space. People claimed they faded when nobody was looking. I wondered if anybody'd ever seen it.

(And apparently, LJ is eating my spaces at the ends of sentences.)
