(no subject)
Mar. 5th, 2005 12:46 pm"Abortion-rights groups and Senate Democrats are challenging their opponents to bridge the deep divide over abortion by working together to reduce unintended pregnancies. Thus far, those calls to seek common ground have been greeted mostly with silence or ridicule."
"...Tony Perkins of the conservative Family Research Council said, "Their idea of reducing unintended pregnancies is more sex education and distribution of contraceptives. ... That's not the solution, that's part of the problem. "
I think he's really exposed his real agenda better than I possibly could. It's not about abortion, it's about sex and control.

A quick link
Mar. 5th, 2005 01:35 pmRelevant to my working on my taxes, here's Mark Schmitt talking about progressive taxation like my blog post I wrote a while back.
And no, I'm not feeling anti-government at tax time, like some people seem to. I get a lot more value out of government than the $500-700 or so I'm probably going to end up paying. Roads, schools, honest measurements, etc. So no, no government angst from me.

Mar. 5th, 2005 10:06 pmSomething I wrote earlier, no idea how or if it ties into anything else. I just had an urge to write something Forsyth-ey.

I went with the family to see a Beatles Tribute band as a fundraiser for the local HS athletic and music groups (Yeah, I don't know why the athletic groups keep needing more funding either). This (warning, embedded sound) seems to be their homepage.
They were good. And after seeing my ticket, I decided it was a good idea to have gone. I got ticket 23. Which is just a number, but hey, y'know.

My quote webcomic unquote
Mar. 5th, 2005 10:16 pmA few of you might remember back when I was way too amused with ComicChat, and used it to make a comic. For those of you who don't, the inanity is available here. Volume 1 was actually finished, the second thing ended when I ran out of ideas and it stopped being amusing.
Basically, it's just like most of the comics on Keenspace, except I didn't put it up there. Heh. You have been warned.
