Nov. 30th, 2004 11:25 amHeee. I did it. Check out my spiffy purple bar here.
Also, of course, check out the winner icon, though I'm not that fond of this year's winner icons, but hey, y'know? Woot. The story's not even close to done, I blame the characters for having detours and constantly arguing with each other, heck, they still haven't gotten on the ship that'll take them to the climax, though they're like 500 words from doing so. Plus there's at least one decently big scene, well, two, I skipped over, and there's a lot of stuff that's crap and should be cut, or rewritten, so the story's nowhere close to done, but I made it. Woot.

Idle musings
Nov. 30th, 2004 09:17 pmI was extemporizing at work when no customers were around, and was bored and being overly dramatic, so I went into mad scientist mode, bitching about incompetent minions, the lack of proper mobs these days, and the General Decay of Society.
But I realized something. Well, not really realized, since I'd known it anyway, but. Philosophically, I'm on the side of the mad scientists. The crazed guys with white hair peering into Things Wot Man Were Not Meant To Know. And not merely because I too live in occasional fear of a mob with pitchforks and torches showing up at my door. I too have an abiding love of Science! and Truth! And yes, I think jacob's ladders and plasma balls are nice interior decoration for a dungeon.
IGOR! GIVE ME MY GOGGLES! FOR SCIENCE!

I found this amusing
Nov. 30th, 2004 11:52 pmIt's one of those instructional how-to illustrated pamphlets. With an interesting choice of subjects. See for yourself. (Warning, slight cartoon nudity on the last page, but not in any sexual way) (Via Boingboing)
