Death in High Places (8/??)
Sep. 9th, 2005 02:40 pmRevenge couldn't be all there was to it. Just kill a Citizen, and Succession kicks in, poof, new Citizen. Might take a couple days, and they're noobs at first, but dying doesn't get rid of an Idea. Maybe somebody needed Justice out of the way for a little while, and unsteady after that.
That made sense. So why didn't it feel right? With Succession go the symbols and trappings of the station. Unconsciously, I fidgeted with the piece of her Scales I'd borrowed from the scene. The Sword was gone though. Something was fishy. I'd bet Succession hadn't kicked in.
(I'm sick of writing Succession. It doesn't even seem like a word any more. Luckily, scene should be changing soon!)
