The Universe has yet to acknowledge the African plains ape, screaming into the void. But the need still echoes up from our twists of DNA, crying to leave some mark behind. In the form of children, or a giant statue spouting fire. Something to say "I was here. I mattered. Remember me."

Perhaps one day the Universe will notice. Or perhaps not. But the shout echoes still.
