A Note to Resteraunts

Lettuce + Dressing is not a salad. It's the skeleton of a salad. Both are common components of salads, but by themselves, they do not suffice to count as a salad.

How right you are! I like mine with at very least cherry tomatos, carrot slices, and croutons. In addition to dressing and lettuce, I consider those to be the minimum requirements for a respectable salad.
