I found an interesting book at the used bookstore the other day. It's called "Zen Judaism". It's a bunch of Zen koans, with a twist. And a lot of them remind me of the kind of things "my" buddha would say, if he were, y'know, Jewish. It is highly amusing. Quotes follow.
'There is no escaping karma. In a previous life, you never called, you never wrote, you never visited. And whose fault was that?"
"Be aware of your body. Be aware of your perceptions. Keep in mind that not every physical sensation is a symptom of terminal illness."
"Enlightement is a sudden, wordless understanding. Stop telling everyone already."
"Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Forget this and enlightenment will be the least of your problems."
Content posts this evening, after work. Probably.
