Random things I wrote down today in my notepad.
I bitch about sappy, shallow music all about wuv and nookie taking over the airwaves, but I suspect that if I actually knew the languages, most "exotic" foreign music would turn out to be something like "come back to my igloo, your appearance arouses me like a wild donkey" or something like that.
And I bet old people bitch about the noise those kids are listening to, too, when I was young, the only instrument we had was the lute, and it only had one string! That was music, and that needed talent, not like these kids these days!
There's something odd about TV shows based around the making of TV shows. Honestly, who cares? I'm sure it's interesting to the creators, and something they know, but BFD. It's like a TV show about academic politics, but with more sex. Yeah, it's probably the sex.
How is a DVD a "special collector's edition" if it's the only version available?
I don't understand the "Best friend slept with my S/O" thing that's in lots of stuff. It's not really a best friend or SO thing to do, which is probably the point. I suppose there's opportunity, and the fact that friends and SOs tend to have at least somewhat similar tastes, but still. I think a lot of it's just observer bias, people remember the unusual more, the dramatic, the upsetting. And it makes a better story. Well, at least that's one thing I really don't have to worry about, none of my friends SOs are my type, aside from my anti-girl field. Besides the fact I wouldn't do it anyway. Guess I'm just old-fashioned about some things.
I need to do thinking about how magic works in Fors's world. Currently, it's vague, which is probably for the best, but it tends to work like a combination of electricity and radiation, it's just sorta there, and can be channeled, harnessed, and put to use. But I should figure out how, why can wizards throw spells? And what effects does all that ambient magic have, besides making a bunch of races humanoid and sentient?
If I'm seeing how long I can hold my breath, then I'm definitely bored.
Thus ends the snapshot of sorts of my day. There's a few other things that'll take more time to write up, and I'll do another time.
