The Hitchiker's Movie

forsythSo I went out with a bunch of friends to see the Hitchiker's Guide movie. It didn't suck.
More than that, it was pretty good. But don't go into it expecting an exact translation of the book. It's not. There's whole extra scenes, and subplots. The visual effects were mostly really good, especially the Flash-ish Guide bits. Marvin was great, and yes, they had the whale. All in all, I quite liked it, as my first impression. There may be bits that niggle at me, I don't know. But it's definitely not a disaster. But I'm not sure how I feel about the possibility of a sequel, considering Douglas Adams worked on this one till he died, the next one wouldn't have his input at all. But they may not do it.
