Small Ways #1, Tips for life
Mar. 31st, 2005 04:29 pmI figured, y'know, rather than just ranting about idiots and politics and ideas, I could try doing something useful with this. Something besides spamming my legislators with letters for them to ignore. So I figured, why not compile and list easy ways to live a little bit better, things people could put into practice. Feel free to add your own, these are going to range from recipes, to philosophy, to suggestions, to items, to who knows what else. Small ways of changing things.
But I'm gonna start off with basic stuff, so this is the first one.
Eat well and exercise.
I know, I know, this is way overplayed, but it's true. If you eat better, and get exercise, your life will be better. You'll feel better, have more energy, get sick less, and so on. And it's doesn't require major life changes. Just go for a walk like three times a week, and only eat at McDonald's twice a week, instead of three times a week, and you've already made a good change. Or just pick one thing to change a little bit, have a salad with lunch instead, or anything like that. Walk or bike to work, instead of driving.
Plus, by eating less pre-packaged foods, you'll not only be healthier, but be putting less strain on the environment. There's all sorts of spillover effects that, while small, help. That's kinda the whole point of these tips, I suppose.
Feel free to post your own suggestions, or even steal the whole idea, the whole point is for bloggers to give to other bloggers. :)
