LJ's interest screen is, well, interesting. If you think about it too much, anyway. It's entirely freeform, so whatever you want to put in, can go in.

The thing is, if I wanted, I could probably spend hours just putting things in. Big categories, then things inside those categories, and shiny things that catch my interest...

But it leaves me with a quandary, and I'm not even sure how much it really matters. So I just update it every so often, usually when I'm poking around in somebody else's userinfo, comparing friendslists or things like that, and see something that makes me go "hey, yeah!"

So far I haven't actually USED the interests to go hunting for other people to meet or anything, but maybe I should.

Or I should go hunting communities, and post things in them. And play attention-whore, basically, trying to get people to look at me and read what I think. Hijack people's minds, a la Warren Ellis's instructions he posted on
